Portable Ultrasound Huge Success

Last fall our Foundation was offered a very unique opportunity.  We had just reached our goal of $80,000 to purchase a portable ultrasound for the Fort St John Emergency Department.

At the same time, the Vancouver Olympic Committee (VANOC) distributed five portable ultrasounds which had been used during the Olympics to communities throughout Canada.  Our hospital was not choosen, however VANOC still had discount credit with their supplier the Foundation could use when purchasing out unit.  Because of our generous Donors and the VANOC credit, the Foundation was able to purchase TWO portable ultrasounds; one for our very busy Maternity Department and a more specialized unit for the Emergency Department.  Our patients will benefit because of our Donors and the BC's Olympic Legacy.
