Ending the year on a high note!

The Fort St John Hospital Foundation ended the 2011 year on a very high note.  Three companies, Encana, Spectra Energy and Arc Resources, stepped up and each made $10,000 donations. The Foundation was presented with cheques in support of their “Be an Angel” and “Lend Your Hand” Campaigns. These year end donations saw the Foundation’s “Angel” goal surpassed and the “Lend Your Hand” goal reach just over 1 Million dollars!!

A Generous Gift 

John McGougan of Talisman Energy presents a cheque for $20,000 to Ashley Bentley of the Hospital Foundation in front of the current analog mammography machine. The gift will be directed to the $1.2 million “Lend Your Hand” campaign which is raising funds to purchase a Digital Mammography machine, 7 wireless fetal heart monitors, 7 treatment chairs for kidney dialysis and 55 vital signs monitors. The Foundation hopes to have all the equipment in time for the opening of the new hospital this summer. To date the Foundation has raised $928,000 of their goal.

Once again Suncor employees stopped by our office with $3,620 raised from various events at their employee Christmas Party.

Every year Flint Energy has a Christmas party for their employees.   Each year they raise money for multiple chairties in Fort St. John.  The Fort St. John Hospital Foundation received $1000 for the 2011 year.

Community Investment

For the 2nd time, Doug Sather, Rob Sandberg, Darrell Stark, and Bruce Kindrat of First Choice Insurance & Investment and Sunlife Insurance, and their entire team, have come together to donate $6000 for the Community Cancer Centre located in our hospital.
